Kids ages 15 and younger and their families are invited to come out to Ship Creek for a day of fishing, luck, fun, and giveaways!

The portion of Ship Creek from the C Street bridge upstream to The Bridge Restaurant is designated by the State of Alaska as a youth-only fishery for kids ages 15 and under from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Schedule:

6:00 am: Ship Creek “Youth Only Fishery” opens for youth-only fishing.

*Based on the tide, the time for the best fishing on Saturday, June 20th will be roughly 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The high tide for June 20th will be at 11:56 a.m. reaching 27.6ft.

3:00 pm: Line up along the pedestrian bridge for a group photo, gift bags and hot dogs. The line will start at north end of the walk over bridge closest to The Bait Shack. Note some kids start securing there place in line roughly an hour before.

11:00 pm: Ship Creek closes to fishing and reopens Sunday at 6 a.m. to all anglers.

This event coincides with the Annual Slam'n Salm'n Derby, which includes a Youth class. Derby tickets must be purchase prior to fishing, and are available at The Bait Shack.
